What are AS & A Levels?

Cambridge International AS & A Levels are equivalent to Grade 11 and Grade 12 of Indian boards such as CBSE, ISC and HSC. Accordingly, together AS and A Levels take typicallytwo years to complete. ASstands for Advanced Subsidiary, whereas A stands for Advanced Level.

 Who is eligible to take Cambridge International AS & A Levels?

Any students who has passed Grade 10 from any recognized national or state board such as CBSE, ICSE, HSC – is eligible to apply for Cambridge International AS & A Levels.

 What more do I need to know Cambridge International AS & A Levels at HVBGA?

Cambridge International AS & A Levels is a dynamic curriculum, meaning that it gets revised updated every 2 to 3 yearsto ensure that learners receive commensurate with the demands of the real-world. This curriculum prepares students for university study by helping them develop develops their knowledge, understanding and skills in:

We offer all of the syllabuses (subjects) that are required to satisfy eligibility criteria to gain admission in undergraduate programs in Indian colleges and universities recognized by authorities such as All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE), Medical council of India (MCI),The Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI), The Institute of Company Secretaries of India (ICSI), and University Grants Commission.

We are also flexible in regards to subject selection. For instance, if a student wishes to choose a mix of subjects from commerce and science streams in A Levels to get a more diverse exposure, knowledge, and training to improve career prospects, we try to accommodate student’s wishes.

How Cambridge Reports Student Achievement

Each subject that a learner takes receives a separate grade.

Grades are benchmarked using internationally recognised grades, which have clear guidelines to explain the standards of achievement.

The Cambridge International A Level is reported on a grade scale from A* (highest) to E (minimum required performance). There is no A* grade for Cambridge International AS Levels, which run from grade A to E.Additionally, to meet the demands of Indian colleges and universities for admissions to undergraduate programs after A Levels, Cambridge also provides learners with Percentage Uniform Marks that give percent-equivalent of letter grades.
